The 17 contestants living under the Bigg Boss roof, will find themselves in a variety of emotionally testing and physically challenging situations. With each season of Bigg Boss we had something new to offer and this season will be no exception. In late July, Voot Select released Rakshit Shetty-starrer 777 Charlie about the bond between a lonely factory worker and a stray Labrador. It made logical sense to branch out and offer them the Voot Select experience with new movies and original web series and heightened experience in the non-fiction space. We have a strong Kannada audience base which has been coming to us on Voot platform for catch up content, says Palia. That Voot already had a strong foothold in the market through television channels Colors Kannada and Colors Super helped in choosing to leap into the market. For Ferzad Palia, head, SVOD and International Business at Viacom18, this was a sign that there were enough takers for Kannada content. Both titles fared well on the service, with 25-30% of viewership coming from outside Karnataka. Later that month came Kannada action comedy Badava Rascal.
